I'm a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), and Certified Nutrition Coach (CNC) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). I also hold specialties in Women's Fitness, Senior Fitness, and Group Personal Training. I believe in an integrated approach to health through fitness and nutrition by incorporating healthy habits that can be continued throughout your life.
I believe whole-heartedly that consistency is the key to success. It's amazing how simple daily habits can help us feel better. Dialing in our sleep habits, hydration, exercise, and nutrition are things that we can control to take charge of how we feel.
I'm a life long learner and dedicated to continuing education, specifically scientifically proven research in the fitness industry. I love helping my clients understand the science behind what they are learning with me. I don't follow fad diets or fad fitness trends because most of these aren't based on scientifically proven principles.
As for my own fitness, I'm a trail runner, hiker, cross-country skier, and enjoy strength training, balance, and flexibility work to keep myself injury free so I can be active outside as much as possible. I love to cook and eat! I don't believe that there are "good" or "bad" foods; there are foods that are healthy for us and nourish our bodies, and there are foods that aren't healthy. Our bodies will tell us which is which by how we feel and perform. I personally love tortilla chips and queso, but I know it's not the best fuel for my body so I only have it once in a while. Nutrition and exercise go hand in hand in order for us to reach our goals and feel our best, and I'll teach you how to use them together.
I'm a veteran with 25 years of service and have spent my entire life leading and serving others. Let me lead you on your health and fitness journey so you can live your best life.
